Annual Boosters During Covid

Can I bring my pet in for its ANNUAL VACCINATION BOOSTER?

Dogs – If your dog is due its annual booster, please discuss this with your vet. In many cases (but not all) it is acceptable to delay the booster up to 15 months after the last booster and reminders are being sent to clients whose pets are approaching this timeframe.

If your vet decides that your dog is at risk of picking up Leptospirosis then they may choose to administer a booster vaccination sooner. If it is over 12 months but less than 15 months since the last Leptospirosis vaccine then we will normally restart the vaccination course but clients will only be charged at the lower price for a booster.

If it is more than 15 months since the last booster or Leptospirosis vaccine, but less than 18 months, we will normally restart the vaccination course but clients will only be charged at the lower price for a booster.

If it is over 18 months since the last vaccination then it will be necessary to restart the vaccination course and this will be charged at the normal price for a full vaccination course. Please contact the practice to arrange an appointment and instructions on how we will keep you and our staff safe to enable us to carry out this treatment for your pet.

Cats – you can safely postpone this vaccine for up to 3 months after the due date without requiring a restart. Reminders are being sent to clients whose pets are approaching this timeframe. If your cat is more than 3 months overdue their booster, please discuss this with your vet who will recommend what the best course of action is for your cat based on their situation & lifestyle.

Rabbits – If your rabbit is due its annual booster, please discuss this with your vet. If your vet decides that your rabbit is at significant risk of picking up either VHD or Myxoamatosis, then they may recommend vaccination. Please contact the practice to arrange an appointment and instructions on how we will keep you and our staff safe to enable us to carry out this treatment for your pet.
